Project Help (now known as The Caring Center) has evolved from a group of volunteers who provided a crisis line to "help" troubled individuals into a multi-program, not-for-profit organization now serving hundreds of needy families and thousands of individuals annually through the dedication of scores of volunteers. Today the Caring Center is the umbrella organization for four programs helping the needy of Boone County. These programs are The Caring Center, Transitional Housing, Community Garden, and Life Skills.
As the programs offered by The Caring Center have evolved, the organization has also grown and developed. Starting with a few dedicated, compassionate volunteers in the early 1980's, The Caring Center is now overseen by a Board of Directors and an Executive Director charged with supervising these programs and coordinating the caring work of our many volunteers.

The Caring Center has opened a store at 620 Indianapolis Avenue.
Hours: (subject to change)
Mon. and Wed. 11 am - 2pm,
Tues. - Fri 11 am - 5pm,
First Sat. of each month 9 am - noon.
The Caring Center relies 100% on the generous donations and aid from it's supporters to provide assistance to those in need.
