September-October 2018 - Food Pantry Reorganization - The Caring Center is reorganizing its Food Pantry operations beginning in September 2018 and lasting through October 2018. This change will allow us to more efficiently use our space to store more food and streamline the shopping process for our clients.
Saturday, October 20, 2018 - Coat and Blanket Drive - The Zionsville Knights of Columbus and The Caring Center staff will be distributing free coats and blankets on a first come basis at The Caring Center from 9 am to 11 am or until we run out.
Saturday, December 8, 2018 - Gingerbread House Decorating Event - Start a new and meaningful family tradition and get into the holiday spirit! Our gingerbread house decorating experience is sure to be a hit with the entire family! The Caring Center will be accepting canned food donations, as well as new or gently used toy donations during this event. We encourage a minimum of one donation per person.
Saturday, February 9, 2019 - Charity Gala Casino Night - Please join us for a Red Dress Gala and Casino Night! Enjoy an evening of fun and games, while raising money for The Caring Center of Boone County. The main event will consist of cocktails, a plated dinner, live auction and casino games.
Who We Are
The Caring Center in Lebanon, Indiana, works to stabilize families in crisis and to move those caught in poverty towards self-sufficiency. We are the umbrella organization for programs helping the needy of Boone County, Indiana. As the programs offered have evolved, we have also grown and developed. We are overseen by a Board of Directors, and have an Executive Director charged with supervising these programs and coordinating the caring work of our many volunteers.
We help families and individuals living in generational and situational poverty and those who are food insecure. Services that are available at the Caring Center are food , clothing, personal care items, household items, furniture, etc. (View the monthly needs.) We also offer Transitional Housing, Community Gardens, Cooking Club, Table Talk, Life Skills classes, including Getting Ahead in a Just Gettin'-By-World, and we serve as a Salvation Army Extension Unit.
The Caring Center serves thousands every year through the compassionate care of scores of donors and volunteers. The Caring Center can receive and store frozen food, including meat in large quantities. Donations to the food pantry are greatfully accepted. View this month's Caring Center needs.
Feeding Our Future

The Caring Centers distributes clothing to families in need through the Clothing Closet and offers clothing and other household items through the Caring Center's retail shop, Classic Reruns.
