THE CARING CENTER HISTORY

Young childThe Caring Center was established in the early 1980's when a small group of people from St. Peter's church formed a committee to distribute food and clothing to the needy.

In the beginning, the church fellowship hall was used. Then in 1999, the Caring Center moved to larger quarters at 620 Indianapolis Avenue in Lebanon with 2500 square feet and a kitchen, and the operations expanded greatly. In 2006 the Caring Center moved to its present location at 1230 Ransdell Court in Lebanon with over 5000 square feet, a kitchen and meeting rooms.

The Caring Center now serves thousands every year, continuing its mission of distributing food and clothing through the compassionate care of scores of donors and volunteers.

In 2006, we helped 9,808 individuals and 3,145 families – 4,000 were children.

In 2007, we helped 11,283 individuals and 3,211 families – 5,330 were children.

In 2008, we helped 10,360 individuals and 2,607 families – 4,940 were children.
